    Abstract
This paper presents a technique for quantifying landscape impacts from the implementation of infrastructures on rural landscapes. Proposed methodology takes into account perception in landscape characterization thanks to considering aesthetic attributes. In order to characterize these attributes in a simple, objective and systematized way, a set of variables measurable in photographs has been proposed. Landscape impacts from certain linear infrastructures (rural road, conventional and the same high from two perspectives) have been calculated for testing developed method. Using photomontage techniques, the goodness of exposed method has been probed not only referred to attributes and landscape characterization but also referred to the alignment of results with population preferences for analyzed scenes. Keywords: landscape; landscape impact; aesthetics attributes; rural landscapes
