    Abstract
In irrigation on-rotation systems occur lower flows than in irrigation on-demand systems, and therefore it may result in lower cost of pipes. In addition, the cost of energy in terms of established electricity rates can be optimized by using new remote control and management systems, an efficient operation of the pumping equipment and distribution of irrigation time in irrigation on-rotation systems. In this paper we describe strategies develop, implement and tools to improve the sizing of pipes in pressurized irrigation on-rotation systems (for plot main lines and for pipes of the general distribution network). The algorithm solves when the total head is given by a pumping system (total head unknown) or if it is fixed (total head known). These tools have been incorporated to GESTAR2014, software of hydraulic analysis and sizing for pressurized irrigation networks. As example and case study, the methodology and the developed algorithm is applied to a general distribution network with pumping system. The obtained results are compared with results of sizing on-demand. Keywords: irrigation; rotation; sizing
