Location theories try to explain the conceptual factors that determine the implementation of productive and economic activities in a territory.
Fundamental studies on which are based the current theories of location have their beginnings with a series of research papers that already since the beginning of the 19th century, until practically our days, try to clarify the relationships between economic activities and the distribution of the population in the urban networks.
Nowadays the merger in the urban environments between the productive activities and the residential needs are related, giving a new approach to the traditionally known ones as factors of location.
The globalization of companies understood as the movement of industrial activities from one countries to another’s is a phenomenon that begins with the change of current century and affects in major measure to the developed countries, generating the need to review the traditional theories of location.
The aim of the present article is to analyze this change that is taking place defining not only the new forms of economic activity that are implemented in the developed countries as the valuation of the factors to considering.
