In the last years, the composite materials, in particular the organic matrix composite materials, reinforced with glass fiber as polyamide PA 66 GF30, are being deeply studied due to its importance industrial. This material is used as substitute of metals, wood or glass. However, aspects related to the sustainability as energy required during the drilling are not considered. Moreover, it is necessary the use of drill of high performance to improve the outcomes. This paper presents an experimental study about the effect of different parameters on the calculation of the energy during the dry drilling of high performance in PA 66 GF30. Thus, two drills types have been used diverse cutting conditions. The drills materials are high speed steel without coating, WC with coating and WC with point of diamond. In the tests, the energy has been calculated by means of thrust forces and torques, determined by a piezoelectric dynamometer, which allows obtaining their values during the drilling process. Results provide information of the influence according to the torque value, in particular. Some conclusions allow pointing to the drill recommend under different cutting conditions to get a drill under a sustainable criterion.
