The use of vegetable biomass as fuel requires, the determination of physicochemical parameters such as moisture content, volatile matter, fixed carbon and ash, and the content of the three constituents natural polymers (hemicellulose, cellulose and lignin), which condition degradation kinetics. Usually these tests are done on different computers. This paper proposes the use of thermogravimetric analysis for the determination of all of them, for what has developed a methodology that combines a pre-drying, controlled degradation in inert atmosphere of the volatile and fixed carbon burning the determination of the ash content. The data obtained during the pyrolysis stage is treated using an algorithm developed specifically for this work, which allows determination of content of each of the natural polymers as well as kinetic parameters that control the thermal degradation of the sample. Have been used eight types of lignocellulosic biomass energy that can be valued by combustion: Cytisus multiflorus, Acacia dealbata, Eucalyptus plantatio, Juglans regia, Olea europaea, Pteridium aquilinum and Miscanthus sinensis. This tool is then integrated into a rigorous model that allows the prediction of combustion behavior of different forms of plant biomass.
