Toy industry is characterized by a constant renewal of their products, which are linked to TV series and fashionable TV characters. However, manufacturers must meet a set of criteria relating to health, packaging and environment in order to facilitate the trade of toys on the community market. In some groups of products, these criteria are indicated as a text, mark o label, to help to end consumers to distinguish between the products of one company from those coming fromthe others companies.
In this paper, we analyze the environmental information in a sample of toys. Moreover, a group of consumers were consulted about the importance of the environment in toys products. The answers showed a non spontaneous concern about the environmental attributes of a toy, unless the toy affects directly the user’s health. However, is important to introduce environmental information gradually to familiarize consumers about the environmental attributes.
