In order to determine best practices energy developed by the ports of Valencia, Algeciras Bay, Luka Koper, Leghorn, Piraeus and Marseille, inside of the Climeport project, arises the need to proceed to evaluation and comparison (Benchmarking) in order to select those that have one greater impact in relation to the minimization of emissions of Greenhouse Gases (GEIS´s). In a first assessment will proceed to establish the degree of effectiveness of the same in relation to their quality, impact and relevance for the reduction of GEI´s. Obtained the previous ranking, there is a second phase of evaluation of those good practices whose valuation is remarkable, to be again valued on their technical, economic viability and implementation. The end result of this phase of evaluation will support investment decision making in the implementation of improvement projects energy-environmental by the makers of the port authorities of the different ports of the Mediterranean to face with greater guarantees of success GEI´s of port activities studied emissions reduction.
