Today there are two types of self-propelled combines for corn harvest, with and without hopper. The first require greater power, as they have to transport the harvested forage, so its cost is higher. The latter require a vehicle to transport permanently beside where transfer the forage, making more difficult the maneuvers on header.
In this paper we have compared the effective field capacity of both vehicles, discriminating speed rates, time spent on maneuvers and discharge times. Finally there will be a cost study to determine which equipment is more efficient.
The results obtained indicate that there are no significant differences in the aspects analyzed with the use of different harvesters analyzed.
