ANÁLISIS DEL SECTOR CONSTRUCCIÓN ESPAÑOL A PARTIR DE SUS PRINCIPALES MAGNITUDES ECONÓMICAS

Abstract

Construction in Spain has been over the past two decades about 10% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), the main engine of the Spanish economy, but the current global economic situation with the peculiarities of the Spanish economy and the construction sector in particular has generated slump in activity to values similar to the nineties. Studies of the construction sector in Spain can be approached from different classifications, but perhaps the two most important are those relating to its scope: private and public, and corresponding to their type: building and civil engineering. The study of the key figures in the construction sector through the statistics of production rates, employment, public procurement, visa number, etc., and from the perspective of scope and type, gives us a picture of the historical evolution of sector to the current situation. In this study reflect the influence of investment policies, plans and programs in the short term and other places that have marked the evolution of the sector, noting the current strengths of the sector as a basis for the start of the recovery.
