This work implements a brain-computer interface to build a visual speller based on evoked potential P300 and the oddball paradigm using a brain wave reader. P300 is a positive deflection electrical wave from the brain activity that begins about 300 milliseconds after the stimulus produced by a relevant fact. The oddball paradigm is the method used to raise P300 wave. Two stimuli are presented to the subject, one common and one uncommon. The subject has to recognize the odd stimulus, appearing randomly. In this work, an array of 6 columns and 6 rows of characters are displayed to the subject. The subject should pay attention to the character he/she want to spell while rows and columns begin to light up alternatively and randomly. The unlikely event (oddball) that excites the P300 will be that the character which the subject is paying attention to is illuminated. The project is carried out on an experimental basis in order to explore the potential and assess the limitations of this technology. The presented conclusions can be the basis for future projects in this field.es_ES
