ANÁLISIS DE LAS DINÁMICAS SOCIO-DEMOGRÁFICAS Y ECONÓMICAS DE LA COMARCA DE GUADIX: UNA APROXIMACIÓN MUNICIPAL

Abstract

This work is the result of an investigation, where we have analyzed the evolution of the socio-demographic and economic dynamics of the region of Guadix (Granada), as well as studied the internal territorial imbalances between the municipalities. The methodology is quantitative, based on the analysis of secondary data obtained from various official sources as Institute of Statistics and Cartography of Andalusia (IEA), State public employment service (SEPE), National Institute of statistics (INE), etc. I have used variables relating to the physical environment, population, education, social infrastructure, economy, etc. The analysis methods used include the analysis factor and analysis cluster, commonly used techniques to analyze the territorial disparities. The studied region presents strong territorial imbalances between the different municipalities. Thus, demographic and economic characteristics that possess each municipality, must be seen in context, in adapting and implementing rural development policies. Over the past years despite the implementation of public policies aimed at improving the regional development, demographic losses are still significant, especially of the younger population, and this is reflecting the serious situation to the demographic and economic sustainability of this rural area in decline.
