APRENDER HACIENDO APLICADO A LA INGENIERÍA DE PROYECTOS: UNA EXPERIENCIA BASADA EN EL DISEÑO DE AERONAVES

Abstract

An old proverb attributed to Confucius says "I hear and I forget, I see and I learn, I do and I understand". That is the philosophy of this teaching experience with a double aspect: aircraft design and engineering projects. The experience is based on a subject related to aircraft conceptual design, where students learn what is an engineering project in the best way: doing so. In this experience the students pretend to be workers of a company that receives the order to design an aircraft based on some requirements. In this way they are involved in a complex project with multiple components and interrelationships. As guidance, the teacher suggests a work plan and imposes deadlines for deliverables, leaving them free in the method of work and how much they want to be tutored. In this way, in addition to learning aspects directly related to aircraft design, students learn aspects related to engineering projects in a practical and direct way.
