dc.descriptionUm standing frame é um equipamento mecânico ou mecatrónico (versões mais recentes) que tem como finalidade corrigir a incapacidade dos indivíduos assumirem a posição vertical. Os standing frames actualmente existentes no mercado não permitem uma fácil colocação do paciente no dispositivo, não permitem uma total mobilidade (dentro e fora de edifícios), não são versáteis, não são modulares e não permitem que as crianças possam ter actividades ocupacionais enquanto que realizam os tratamentos. Neste artigo apresenta-se o projecto de um standing frame para utilização no tratamento de crianças com deficiência mental. O standing frame aqui apresentado tem em conta as limitações anteriormente referidas e é perfeitamente adaptado a este público-alvo muito específico e muito especial. As principais características do equipamento cujo projecto é apresentado neste artigo são a modularidade, a facilidade de colocação do paciente e a facilidade de utilização, principalmente quando o paciente, e sua família, necessitam de viajar e têm necessidade de transportar o standing frame com eles. dc.description.abstractA standing frame is a mechanical or mechatronic equipment (recent versions) that aims to correct the inability of individuals to assume the vertical position. The existing standing frames on the market do not allow easy placement of the patient on the device, do not allow full mobility (within and outside of buildings), they are not versatile, they are not modular and they do not allow children to have occupational activities during treatments. This paper presents the project of a Standing frame for use in the treatment of children with mental deficiency. The Standing frame presented in this paper takes into account the limitations mentioned above and is perfectly adapted to this very specific and very special target people. The main features of the equipment whose project is presented in this article are the modularity, easiness of placing the patient and easiness of use, especially when the patient, and family, need to travel and need to carry with them the standing frame.
