EVALUACIÓN ECONÓMICA DE LAS POBLACIONES DE CASTAÑO EN GALICIA A TRAVÉS DEL SISTEMA DE APOYO A LA DECISIÓN SAD CASTANEA.

Abstract

The chestnut tree (genus Castanea), deciduous species of great economic and historical importance in Galicia. Species capable of producing quality timber, edible nut biomass as environmental protection and landscape. Or decision support systems (DSS) originate as tools to aid the resolution of problems of great complexity because of the high number of variables involved in the initiation, the high stochasticity in the amount of possible solutions and the difficulty. All this characterizes the problems of forest planning. The guidance provides a DSS_Castanea economic and environmental, through the evaluation, classification and zoning of forty-seven technical and economic models applied in more than six million parcels, including any recommendations on silvicultural tasks to perform and how to perform them . By assessing feasibility and economic viability given by different indicators (NPV, IRR, PAY-BACK). All this in the context of a web tool with a friendly and simple design with few requirements regarding minimum technical aspects connected, so that could be used by as many people as possible.
