Nowadays, teaching through collaborative learning has started to be more relevant in worldwide, therefore, Tec de Monterrey has designed the i week (“Semana I”) event, which is part of the Tec 21 learning model. The primary objective is to help the students to learn in a different way rather than the traditional method every day, pushing them to acquire work skills like problem solving, leadership, creativity and the ability to work through multidisciplinary teams. By the end of 2014, the poverty rate in Mexico was 53.2% , and the extreme poverty rate was of 10.5% of the population. The Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education educates the students with human sense and the philosophy of giving something back to the society, which consists in providing time and talent for social problem solution. In the last two years, we have found a perfect stage for students to make the payment of their social mortgage [1] providing solutions to society real problems, this is called the innovation week (i week). This paper reflects the experiences of working with multidisciplinary teams, which design and apply social development projects in the Sierra Gorda, in Querétaro as well of Guanajuato.es_ES
