In the last update of the Basic Document of Energy Saving of the Technical Building Code (CTE-DB-HE), from June 2017, a nearly zero-energy building is defined as one that complies with the established regulatory requirements for new construction. This implies, broadly speaking, that in the case of educational buildings, the rating for non-renewable primary energy consumption must be at least B. This study, which starts with a secondary education institute located in Logroño (La Rioja) that meets all the requirements of the CTE-DB-HE as a new building, seeks to achieve a rating of at least an A in both non-renewable primary energy consumption and CO2 emissions. Therefore, in this study, three proposals are made: replacing the current heating and domestic hot water (DHW) system with a biomass boiler, a heat pump, and a cogeneration system; maintaining the current solar support system to cover part of the DHW needs; and incorporating a photovoltaic system to partially cover the electrical needs of the lighting systems.es_ES
