| dc.description | Durante el Renacimiento europeo se escribieron bastantes libros sobre temas de ingeniería y gracias a ello se dispone de información, de primera mano, sobre la capacidad tecnológica disponible en la época, así como la descripción de buena parte de las soluciones técnicas entonces adoptadas. En España, uno de los tratados técnicos más importantes es Los veintiún libros de los ingenios y de las máquinas, actualmente atribuido a Pedro Juan de Lastanosa (Monzón, 1527; Madrid, 1576). Este tratado, a pesar de que su principal objeto es la descripción y estudio de las máquinas, aborda también temas de construcción e infraestructuras. Entre sus contenidos se tienen varias soluciones de cerchas de madera para edificios de actividades técnicas y productivas, algunas de las cuales con geometrías poco usuales en la actualidad. En el presente trabajo se aborda el análisis estructural de las principales cerchas consideradas en el tratado Los veintiún libros … lo que va a permitir, por un lado, apreciar la eficiencia de las soluciones presentadas en el libro y, por otro, valorar las posibilidades de empleo actual de las mismas de cara a la construcción de estructuras con elementos de madera. | dc.description.abstract | During the European Renaissance there were written a lot of books relating to engineering matters and, because of this it is possible to have firsthand information about the technology capacity available on that period, as well as the description of many technical solutions adopted back then. In Spain, one of the most important technical treatise is Los veintiún libros de los ingenios y de las máquinas, nowadays attributed to Pedro Juan de Lastanosa (Monzón, 1527; Madrid, 1576). This treatise, in spite of its principal objective of describing and studying the machines, deals with contruction and infrastructure matters. Among its contents, there are some wood roof trusses for buildings for technical and productivity activities, some with unusual geometries. This paper deals with the structural analysis of the main roof trusses considered in the treatise Los veintiún libros… which is going to allow, on the one hand, to appreciate the efficiency of the solutions showed on the book and, on the other hand, the present application possibilities of it with regard to the construction of structures with wood elements.
