This book constitutes the proceedings of the First International Conference on Research and Education in Project Management (REPM 2018). This scientific event was held in Bilbao (Spain) on February 22-23 2018. Project Management (PM) is recognized as one of the best tools to create successful developments. The objective of REPM 2018 was to bring together practitioners and academics who wish to discuss and agree on the best practices in both research and education in the field of PM. The conference had close to 80 participants from academia and industry, so it finally contributed to bridge the gap between the two environments. Continuous effort into research is the only guarantee to develop advanced techniques and tools. The PM community is being increasingly recognized through their Scientific Journals. Moreover, PM professionals feel the need of deepening in their knowledge when they face daily problems, and the University is the main instrument to educate professionals. Besides, the World needs PMs to be aware of the importance of their role into sustainable development projects. Taking the previous aspects into account, those three thematic areas were selected for this first Conference: Research in PM, Education in PM, and Sustainability and PM. This publication includes the 21 papers selected by the scientific committee of REPM 2018: the 9 papers orally presented during the conference followed by those 12 shown by poster.
